Yesterday, the Broadway production of Jesus Christ Superstar - currently playing at The Neil Simon Theatre after winning rave reviews at The Stratford Shakespeare Festival and the La Jolla Playhouse – was nominated in the DISTINGUISHED REVIVAL OF A MUSICAL category in this year’s Drama League Awards.

The Drama League Awards are the oldest theatrical honors in America and the only major award chosen by audience members. This year’s winners will be announced at a special ceremony, to be held at the Marriott Marquis Times Square on Friday, May 18, 2012.

Since 1916, The Drama League of New York has been at the forefront of the American Theatre community, providing talent, audiences, and prosperous support. It is one of the nation’s oldest continuously-operating, not-for-profit arts advocacy and education organizations.
