Melanie’s proved really popular with fans of the show and has great empathy with the Jesus contenders

Andrew’s keen to have his leading lady help him and the public choose their leading man so Melanie C will be joining Dawn French, Jason Donovan and Andrew Lloyd Webber for the start of the studio shows this Sunday on ITV1 at 21.00. (Saturday’s show at 20.00 announces the final 10)

As a successful solo artist, Melanie’s enjoyed over three million album sales, two No.1 singles, six Top 10 singles and spent over 200 combined weeks on the UK chart. She’s released four solo albums, with Northern Star (1999) and Reason (2003) followed by Beautiful Intentions (2005) and This Time (2007) on her own label, Red Girl Records.

However, it was while contemplating her fifth album that Melanie took the role of Mrs Johnstone in the popular West End show Blood Brothers.

Her theatrical debut was phenomenally well received by audiences and critics, earning 5 star reviews and a nomination for Best Actress in a Musical at the prestigious Laurence Olivier Awards.

In 2011, Melanie returned from her successful journey in musical theatre and headed back to the studio to record her fifth album, The Sea, with its first single entitled Think About It.

Melanie will be completing her Superstar circle by playing the part of Mary Magdalene in the upcoming Arena Tour, playing opposite a Jesus Christ Superstar chosen by you!
