Question for Judas (Tim Minchin):
Tim… We all know that aside from your comedy you have a big theatre background, so I would like to know – What is your favourite show that you’ve performed in and what is your favourite venue that you’ve performed in and why (for both)?
How intense are the rehearsals so far ? Not got long till your first night have you :’)? Bet you’re all having a blast!xx
Question for Tim: What’s been the most challenging part of playing Judas so far?
Question for Ben: What song are you most excited to sing as Jesus?
OTHER QUESTIONS FOR EVERYONE (:
Where are you most excited to perform as part of the JCS tour?
Have you got Heaven on your minds yet?
For Tim: With rock music being one of your many fortés, would you ever be inspired to write another musical like Superstar yourself after the success of Matilda, possobly with some of your existing iconic songs?
For Ben: With Gethsemane being such an iconic song, how are you finding balancing the traditional way of singing it with giving it your own identity?
Both of you are truly awesome people, cannot wait to see you both in Sheffield.
Question for Jeff:
Do you have a nickname?
That looks to me, because of the gas tank (and the fact that you’re testing it outside), that it might be something to do with pyrotechnics. Maybe the flightcase contains the control desk and the things littered around the floor (and on the truss?) are the explosives/flamethrowers themselves? That’s my guess anyway!
Questions:
For Tim: How do you think your comedic career and your past acting experience compare to playing Judas, and how have they helped you in the role?
For someone on the production team: How hard is it to visualise an arena when in a rehearsal room, and then to convert this vision back to an arena setting?
Question for Melanie: Do you have a favorite Scene and song from the show??
Questions for Ben Forster, Jeff Anderson and Tim Prottey-Jones:
Did you have any idea of how modern this production was going to be before auditioning for Superstar?
What has been the most challenging part of the rehearsals?
Once the JCS tour has finished, what role in which musical would you most like to play if you had the opportunity?
All three of you are very talented, I wish you the best of luck for the future. I hope you secure many more roles, (preferably touring productions!) to enable me to come and see you perform again.
