Jesus Christ Superstar Digitally Remastered CD Better than ever and out now! |

Great show but needs a little tweaking – sound was so loud it was difficult to hear the words of the songs, need to use large screens as not everyone could see the stage, good first night.
An amazing show. Bang up to date. Casting superb. Deserved the standing ovation, which IMO should have gone on for much longer!
Couldn’t agree more – ovation probably would have gone on longer but Andrew appeared to have a few words. Spectacular show surpassed my wildest dreams. Amazing cast and crew.
Big is good.
found myself judging against the film,
also lot of close ups on big screen, thought i may as well be watching on TV.
BUT by the second half completly sucked in to this tour de force of a production.
Each to his own – can’t really compare live show to film not same genre – this for a first night was utterly brilliant – IMO the second half was better than the first and Judas’s death scene was emotionally perfect – better than the crucifixtion IMO.
I was there. It was an amazing experience! Well done to all the cast for putting on a fantastic performance.
When will there be a cd with this cast singing? I don’t want a remastered version. I want a cd with Mel C, Tim Minchin and Chris Moyles.
So do I – brilliant vocals all round.
I went last night. Absolutely fantastic. Casting Tim Minchin, Mel C, Ben and Chris Moyles was inspirational. Brilliant – I hope to go again later in the tour. Well done, everyone it was amazing.
I HAVE JUST WITNESSED A FANTASTIC CRUCIFIXTION – BRILLIANT SHOW – MET ALL EXPECTATIONS AND MORE
On the whole we enjoyed the performance last evening. There were a few musical technical hitches which was surprising. We had seats at the O2 on upper level 4 facing the stage. The problem was the roof mounted spotlights obscured our view of the big screen which was distracting and frustrating! I don’t suppose anyone from the cast or crew has ever sat up there to witness how much this could spoil the experience. Tim Minchin was truly brilliant, Mel C sang her heart out, Ben Forster has a great voice, Chris Moyles was limited but quite funny and everyone else worked very hard indeed. Three stars out of five is about right.
I went to the Show on Saturday at the O2 . It is spectacular and the cast is excellent all the way through. Ben is an amazing singer and has a great stage presence and the same goes for Tim Minchin. However I was quite disappointed with the sound (we had the most expensive seats) – when it was loud (which it was most of the time) the sound got quite distorted and hurt your ears so you could not enjoy the great music. The second half of the show seemed slightly better, so I don’t know if the sound engineers changed anything? I hope they can sort this out for future performances as it definitely took away a lot of the enjoyment. It is still a most amazing show and I hope Superstar makes it back to the Theatre so we can enjoy it again in this new version closer up (with better sound) as I found the HUGE Arena not so suitable for the performance so not so enjoyable. I would definitely go again to see it if it came to the theatre.
Brilliant show. Well done to all concerned but especially, Ben Tim and Mel. The right one won Superstar. Go to see it if you can.
I had never seen the original and I have to say although the casting was good and the singing and backdrop/scenary was good, you never told the whole story. Jesus Christ’s story didn’t end with the crucifixion, what happened to the resurrection. I am so disappointed that you went to all that trouble and effort and hard worrk and you missed the whole reason of why Jesus came to earth
Went on Saturday night. Overall a great experience, as I’ve never been to such a big arena before and I already love the musical. But I agree with others’ comments about the lighting gantries abscuring the screen – not great when you’ve paid a lot of money.
I really liked the way the show was brought right up to date – lots of clever touches. Tim Minchin stole the show as Judas (why wasn’t he cast as Jesus?) – fab voice, and expression and energy throughout. There was a startling dud high note from Mel C at the beginning of I Don’t know How to Love Him, but hey, that’s live performance, I guess. Ben Forster’s Gethsemane was stunning. However, I couldn’t make sense of the timing between tracks – inconsistent endings or suddenly running into the next one with no pause so that we couldn’t absorb what had just happened and, more importantly maybe, we didn’t know where to clap!It all felt a bit rushed.
To the person who complained about there being no resurrection in the show – that’s exactly what makes it appeal to Christians and atheists alike – makes you THINK, not assume. Or just enjoy the spectacle – whatever!
I had been sooooo excited to see this show since buying the tickets and finally Sat 22nd arrive. Tim Minchin you are GOD not Judas! Such a talent, intelligence, gifted , funny and deserve the great success tornado that you’re experiencing right now!
Up in the Gods (excuse the pun) on Level 4
Up in the Gods is about right – we too, on level 4 and lighting completely obscured the screen – such a shame. But what a fabulous performance – bang up to date with social media, peace protests and rioters – loved it.
